Blog Entry #6 What Would My Death Row Meal Be?
I love food so much, so of course I had to blog about my favorite foods. When I was younger, my brothers and I watched a lot of YouTube videos, possibly too many. We used to watch those videos about criminals on death row and what their last meal would be. As if this gave us any insight into such a mind, or what we could've possibly had in common with one of these people. I don't know what the intrigue would be. Once again, probably too much YouTube. I got to thinking about this question, and here I will jot down not only my favorite foods of all time, but what my answer would be to this strange but interesting question.
So, for an appetizer, I am definitely going with my favorite spinach artichoke dip. It's my go-to appetizer, and I could honestly eat it any day of the week. I would start out a meal like this with some of my favorite salads and soup appetizers, but definitely chips and my favorite dip, spinach artichoke, can't go wrong at all. Just to name a few other appetizer-like favorites, I guess they'd be considered honorable mentions. Mozzarella sticks and Pretzels with cheese, like Wetzel's or Auntie Anne's, are huge favorites. Auntie Anne's or Wetzel's Pretzel is a whole other topic for discussion, but if you ask me, Sonic beats both of them! Any kind of Mozzarella stick will do, but if I had to choose, Buffalo Wild Wings takes the cake.
Enough of those snack/ appetizers, next up, entree! So, for my last entree, I would want something reminiscing, but the only entree that makes sense is Mexican food. I want a bean burrito from Ta'Carbon and two carne asada tacos. Red beef tamales and a bowl of green chicken and pork pozole from Mrs. Valenzuela are exactly what I would want to leave this Earth chowing down on. The big back in me would also add a smoked salmon avocado roll and pork and chive dumplings on the side. If sides are a category, my spiritual mom's mac n cheese is going with this entree, as well as an animal fry from In-N-Out.For the dessert round, I couldn't say I could really pick one before leaving this world. I love brownies, ice cream, and caramel. So that as a skillet ice cream combo, I think I'd be satisfied having one last time. I'd have to end it all with chocolate, sorry. Honorable mentions are as follows: German chocolate cake my grandmother makes, flan from my Tia Marisol, and my favorite Aunt's banana pudding. Also, there is always a special shout-out for my great-grandmother's slop cake. For now, those are my top picks for a last time meal, and some extra favorites of mine.
